The Phonologist is a Third Year, Senior Standing student of the University of the Philippines- Diliman. He is currently enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters BA English Studies major in Language Studies Program, despite all his wanting to be in the BA Linguistics or BA Sociology Programs. An avid fan of Erving Goffman, Noam Chomsky, and William Shakespeare , the Phonologist is an obsessive- compulsive student who never forgets his Starbucks planner, box of post- its, highlighters, and other geeky stuff.
The Phonologist is a debater and a certified orgworker. He always remembers to train and attend to every organizational work that he deems necessary, and is a great lover of all organizational trips. He thinks that he can accustom himself to many fields, yet he’s into linguistics and debate right now. Who knows? He might be in Law one of these days.
The Phonologist is a believer of carpe diem. Never mind that he is a fan of John Donne and Andrew Marvell, the famous carpe diem poets, he believes more in the idea that life without bad things is bad at all. He is a lover of booze and tequila, and he always carries with him his box of cigarettes, Dunhill Frost, Marlboro Lights Menthol, or any other mentholated cigarettes. He also believes in patriarchy and colonialism, since he cannot imagine a nativist life without these two important societal makeups.
The Phonologist is an internet investigator, and hates plagiarists everywhere. Ethics is such an easy word to spell, but it is even easier to monitor and to uphold. More than respect, ethics matters more. Fairness and responsibility are also valued by him.
The Phonologist is a coffee addict, a YM dependent blogger, a geek, a debater, a drunkard, and the father of a betta fish named Chomsky.
