Blog History

This space is a result of six years of blog metamorphosis.

The Phonologist started his blogging life when he was still in 3rd year High School, with his first blog in Blog- City. Although at that time he did not have sufficient internet connection at home, he still decided to keep his blog because of the persuasion of his school paper adviser, who later on became one of the most influencial teachers that he has ever had. He chose to name his first blog with his surname, because he thought that more than wit, identity matters more.

However, he realized that his blog just became a sheer domain that contains nothing but his favorite quotations and books. Hence, he decided to move to his 2nd blog, but this time asserted himself more with the username iamvictor. Since he was not as techie as he seems to be right now, he still chose to stick with blog-city because he was already used to it.

But when he joined the UP Debate Society, he realized that blog- city was so crappy. The features just sucked compared to the wondrous blogs in Livejournal and Blogger that his orgmates use. With the strong convicing powers of his orgmate Stresstabs, he decided to abandon his 2nd blog and decided to move to blogspot. He chose “Phonologist” as username because of his addiction to one of his major subjects, English Phonetics and Phonology. He was and is still a fan of Noam Chomsky, a phonologist himself. It is with this blog that the decided to explore the Philippine blogosphere, by exchanging links with people and joining blog communities. This was made possible through the help of Big- Empty and Toph29.

While maintaining this blog, the Phonologist realized that some of his debate- related posts became way overboard for his blogger friends to read. Some were already complaining that his debate- related entries were so geeky that a non- debater would fail to understand. Because of this, he created another blog in Livejournal while maintaining his blog in Blogspot.

He also tried the blog features in Multiply and Friendster, but realized that they just suck.

After some time he decided to make a separate blog for his attempts atwriting in Spanish. He improvised a word for “Phonologist” in Spanish , fonolojista. However, he just got lazy updating this site.

And now, here he is, trying to be part of WordPress. He has many reasons for moving here, but they are not for everyone’s consumption and hence should not be posted here.
